30 Rock

Alright, so I’m late to the party on this one. I ran through a couple of episodes of 30 Rock on Netflix’s “Watch it Instantly” feature and it’s just a terrific show. Tracy Morgan, Jane Krakowski, and Alec Baldwin really do find their perfect comic notes but the real gem of the show is the fabulously talented Tina Fey.

I have to admit, I really didn’t like Tina Fey back at the turn of the century. When she became the head writer of SNL, I thought it took a huge dive. Maybe it was just Jimmy Fallon’s bad influence (where is he now?). But I was very very much mistaken. I first started changing my view of Ms. Fey after Mean Girls and now after seeing her incredibly sharp writing on 30 Rock… well I was wrong.

And there is something incredibly hot about her. What can I say? I love funny smart women who dress down and wear glasses.

On another note, I watched and enjoyed Walk Hard. It was a simple pleasure although it fell apart a bit in the middle – still a silly fluffy bit of fun. I was a bit surprised to see the actor playing Dewey Cox’s dad. He looked very familiar and it wasn’t until the credits rolled that I confirmed who it was: Raymond J Barry. I spent about 40 minutes chatting with Raymond Barry waiting in the security line at McCarren Airport in Las Vegas. I was hired to go shoot a independent premiere of Steel City and Raymond Barry was an actor in the film. When returning home, we talked for quite some time – he’s a very nice guy and a consistent working actor. Very cool.

I feel special.

I now have a Kevin Bacon number of 3. I was in a security line with Raymond J Berry in Las Vegas. Raymond J Barry was in Walk Hard with John C. Reilly. John C. Reilly was in The River Wild with Kevin Bacon.
